Not for ages under 18.

This book is the first book in the series.

Taken in the dead of night, Avidya Ray has no idea what to expect when she’d been blindfolded and given to a man that holds her life in his hands.

Her father was clear that she’d be married off by the age of nineteen, but now, everything she once knew is no longer.

Herself included.

Will she let this man that has put a claim on her pull at her heartstrings and make her life easier? Or will following this man put in her a trap that she will never be able to be released from?

I'm not sure if I read the same book as the others. The story started off with a bang, but it only went downhill from there. The storyline was cliché, too much telling and not enough action, and the characters lacked proper introduction. The book fell into the Mafia/Suspense/Romance genre, and it is my opinion the author, Autumn Winchester, failed to provide a credible fantasy for all three catagories.

Mafia: what type of criminal organization was the characters involved in? Religious cult, Bratva, Cosa Nostra, Mexican Cartel, Irish... What was the name of this mafia? The characters' names are just as important in the story as the storyline, and can be useful tool to help describe the setting. However, the names the author chose to use in her book did not fit. The characters had English, Scandinavian, Hindu, Latin, biblical, and Roman zodiac first names. The Melendez surname has Spanish and Portuguese origins, yet the grandparents were from Italy. Even the fear factor lacked luster. How can the reader believe the characters were part of a crime organization if they were a bunch of do-gooders?

Suspense: the storyline lacked intrigue, tension, and filled with too many inconsistencies for a successful suspence thriller. The final epilogue was not well thought out. Rachel's journal entry stated she was twenty-six, yet she knew her eighteen-year-old daughter went missing. Was her daughter kidnapped as a child too?

Romance: too much telling and not enough action. The romance seem forced and I could not feel the chemistry between Zachariah and Avidya. Zachariah was supposed to be a dom, yet his character did not act like one and missed several traits for the reader to believe Zachariah had a dominant nature. Chapters 33-36 was a submissive how-to manual and did not really fit into the storyline.

I will not purchase book 2 since I felt the author failed to deliver in this book.

I was mesmerized by this book. I had some moments that I wanted to stop reading, but then another small secret was revealed and I was compelled to read further and further and before I knew it I had finished the book. I want to read more! I want to know what happens to Avidya and Zach. I want to sing praise to the author, Autumn Winchester, for making this such a compelling book! There is a lot going on and on the other hand it’s a way to the self-discovery of Avidya, her childhood and her heritage.
What it’s all about Avidya Ray is kidnapped in the dead of night while staying with her friend. She is blindfolded and after a few days of unknown terror she is given to a man that holds her life in his hands. He will claim her, own her and it doesn’t matter is she fights against his desire or not. She isn’t a stranger to the way life works, because she knew what to expect growing up. Her father was clear that she’d be married off by the age of nineteen, but no, everything she once knew is no longer. She doesn’t know herself any more. Can she survive what is to become of her without falling in love with the man who claimed her?
I could not put this book down. Page after page, brought me off my set.
I read a lot of books, but this one , is like Ice cream on a hot Atalanta day.
Keep up the good work. Can't wait to read your next book.☺
I'm surprised by the ratings this book has received so far. The amount of grammar and spelling errors and full sentences that couldn't be deciphered based on the context, destroyed the continuity and readability of the book. The story was also predictable and covered the same information ad nauseam. There is a cliffhanger at the end, which could not overcome the poor reading experience. This is the first book I have read by the author. Based on future story lines and after reading a sample, I may try a later publication to see if her skills have developed.
Please make a book 2 soon
You can't leave us hanging like his

Does she kill Cody and her so called father does she find her other mother
I really thought i had found a good book. But i found myself skipping huge portions of it to find something interesting. And then it. Just stopped. No indication it was part of a series. I think I will give it a virtual HEA and cut my losses.
was not sure if this would a good read or not and was surprised and it was. I ordered the next book since i need to know what happens next
It's a great start but lacking in a way that it's not fast paced enough for me. The cliffhanger just pissed me off. Avidya is beyond innocent which I like about her but I was ready for more action. More info on why they want her . I just needed more.
