Novella length western romance.
Wyatt Larken found the mail order bride he thought would make his life complete. He wanted a woman who would settle down with him on the ranch, love him, bear his children, and live a quiet life. On the day his mail order bride was to arrive, the stage was held up by the Dooby Gang and the stagedriver left her stranded with the outlaws, hightailing it back to town.
Wyatt couldn't believe the stagedriver when he told him Shannon was giving the outlaws a piece of her mind, citing the Ten Commandments to them, giving him time to get away. When Wyatt went after her, he found her walking back to town and she was in no mood to get wed that day.
Little did he realize that the quiet life he imagined was fraught with danger from the Dooby Gang. When his new wife's sisters and brothers arrived to protect her and bring down the outlaw gang, he'd never seen a family like hers and found that trouble followed Shannon and her family.

I really enjoy reading historical romance stories, especially when the characters are as unique as normal people can be. This story has it all, a frisky mail order bride that's not afraid of robbers, the handsome rancher to marry, an 'Annie Oakley' for one sister and 'Scarlett O'Hara' for another!Truth be told, there are too many unique characters and not enough story to fit them into. It's like eating beef stew without the beef, but filled with artichokes, celery and shrimp! There's a good storyline here, which kept me reading, but the writing is awkward and the conversations don't flow well.
Still, as this author develops her style learns about timing and developing the characters and storyline, her stories could become ones readers seek after. I'll keep my eyes open for her next chapter of The Troublesome Mail Order Bride's Family!

This is a short rather unbelievable story regarding the mail order bride and her enterprising family who appear and solve all the problems with ease. I have read better "mail order bride" stories/novellas.
I enjoyed it but it was very predictable and a bit on the unbelievable side.
Another great story by this author. I have enjoyed reading other by and look forward to reading more in the future.
A charming funny romantic comedy. How love and trouble come with a fiery red head mail order bride. A well written story richly detailed with a hilarious story artfully draw to delight the reader from start to end read and enjoy. Eqkid@aol.com
This is a vast improvement on a somewhat similar novel by the same author, "Flint's Mail Order Bride." In fact, they are similar enough that in places Wyatt even makes an appearance in it as if he were Flint. If I'd known I wouldn't have bothered with "FMOB" and would just have read this one again. In fact, I have read this one more than once, possibly more than twice!
This is a sweet historical mail order bride romance. I've read several I was disappointed in, but I liked this one. It is a short story and I wished it was a little longer so there would have been time for more character development. I really liked Shannon and her sisters. This short story has more twist and turns than most. It held my interest from beginning to end.
I liked the story very much. The author has a sense of humor and writes it well. Dialog made me laugh and didn't seem stilted. The characters were pleasing and seemed real.
The Troublesome gal has siblings who arrive in town and solve a mystery. I'm guessing there are (or will be) more about this family and the town's folks. That's a good thing.
It's a short one and I'm glad I spent the 99 cents. I'd recommend others read and laugh/enjoy this novella. It's good and will be a part of my Keeper Collection on the .
